London Fashion Week

Here is a little snippit of London Fashion Week – Spring 2014 Ready to Wear. Its only a very small edit but these are the designers that shone the most to me!

| SACHIN & BABI |

Clean sihlouhettes, crisp white, abstract floral motifs, boxy cropped tops paired with full flouncy skirts. Contrast this with form fitting modern dresses. My favourite look would have to be the cap sleeved shift dress with leather fringing. Amazing. Overall the collection is wearable, whimsical, & modern all at the same time. | PETER PILOTTO |

As always, colour, surreal digital prints & feminine lines is what PP delivered. Layered lace, honourglass silouhettes, set against masculine, almost sporty tank style tops. I feel this is how they manage to tone down the sculpted full skirts & make them relevant again (the fullness is created by crinoline – a material circa 1850′s). The romantic ruffling, the futuristic prints with layered fabrics & full skirts .. it’s simply magical. This is how a young, modern woman should look wearing bold colours. Shop Peter Pilotto here

| MOTHER OF PEARL |

Strong, enlarged botanical prints in contrasting hughes set with structured lines & stripes. I’m in love. The ruffled off the shoulder mini dress in cream weave honeycomb fabric is heaven. Shop this beautiful line here

Again, modernity & femininity struck a strong note here. All white ensembles were fused with floral print inserts & girly cut outs. Structured skirts in strong pastel hues were refreshing. Garden Party vibes but without the paisley note. The boxy oversized tops were very on trend however visual interest was added to create a very signature, memorable look. I feel like Marnie Skillings was well ahead of her time (some 5 years ago when she brought out this look directly below – grey marle entwined with floral prints). So beautiful! Shop Preen here

Oh gorgeous! I’ve also been trawling through the latest RTW collections, I particularly love Alberta Ferretti’s collection, it’s gorgeous with lots of florals and sheer panelling (I wrote a post on it here: flourish-blog.blogspot.com.au/inspiration-alberta-ferretti) but I’m also really loving these pics you have of Preen’s collection, the structure in the last dress is really lovely!

    Much love, greta

You’re welcome Cecylia! It was quite a task doing up a shortlist for such an incredibly large amount of talent on show. Next update to come, Milan! Hope you’re having a lovely Saturday x
